We saw a really interesting post on Earth2Tech today about the short-falls of the Next-Gen Ethanol companies.  It was almost a year ago that more than a dozen companies were battling to claim the first cellulosic ethanol plant of commercial scale.  That race has pretty much collapsed given the change in oil prices and lack of funding.  In fact per the article many of the producers are pushing their plans for a commercial scale facility back to 2010.

In particular the post highlights Coskata (www.coskata.com), a cellulosic ethanol maker at the center of much debate by our reviewers.  On the one hand, Ghazal B. was a supporter of Coskata in her 4 star review, highlighting the efficiency improvements Coskata is making to the cellulosic process.  Read her review of Coskata entitled “Coskata Turns Waste into Power” here.  The counter point was provided by Jake W., who has put Coskata’s financial assumptions into great question in his 1 star review of the company.  Read his review of Coskata entitled “Coskata has no grounds for future success” here.

What do you think about these reviews and Coskata’s technology, claims and overall viability? Join the conversation and share your viewpoint on whether Coskata is the next big thing by writing a review of the company or sharing your comments on these reviews.
