Investor reverse due diligence is something we harp on quite a bit as we think it’s critical for for entrepreneurs to understand an investor before pitching them and especially before taking a check. Looking at an investor’s bio, their past investments, etc is what you should definitely do to get a basic sense for an investor’s areas of interest, their background, their investment thesis, etc, but given Twitter, blogs and all things social media, you now have a lot more ways to understand an investor than you’ve ever had before. And you should use those things to your advantage.
And so with that preamble, we’ll be regularly highlighting 10 angel investors from various cities you may want to stalk on Twitter. We use the term stalk in it’s nicest, most friendly form – not in the camp out outside of their home and follow them to work sort of way.
If you are a startup seeking funding, try the Funding Recommendation Engine (FRE) to see if any of these angel investors fit with your venture. It’s free and takes 5 minutes so you have nothing to lose and a list of potential investors to gain. Learn more about the FRE here.
