What seems like a good idea, is in practice, unfair and unreliable. Yes, reviews from an unbiased traveler seems great. However, TripAdvisor fails to screen reviews, which allows personal vendettas to appear as \\&quot;reviews\\&quot;. Calls, emails, faxes are neither answered nor responded to. So, when wondering why a property didn\\\'t respond to a seemingly damning review, understand that it perhaps was Tripadvisor\\\'s failure to screen originally and then Tripadvisor\\\'s failure to allow the response to be published. << Less

I love tripadvisor for hotel reviews! I\'ve been using this site for years to find the right hotel when going on vacation. People from all over the world write extremely honest reviews of their stay at hotels. Sometimes these reviewers can nitpick a bit too much so you can take it w/ a grain of salt at times. Besides writing the review, each person is asked the following questions to help travelers even more: <br /> <br /> - What to expect (rating from 1-5) from rooms, service, value, cleanliness, staff, location, etc.<br /> - Who they recommend this hotel to: honeymooners, old travelers, young singles, families with teens, etc. <br /> - Likes & Dislikes<br /> <br /> The search option on the homepage allows you to search for specific hotels or a list of hotels in a city. It\'s easy to navigate through and you can find other info about cities like things to do and restaurant reviews. <br /> <br /> I don\'t use this site to book hotels as I don\'t like the way it is set up. The search options are all directed to expedia.com, hotels.com, and/or travelocity.com. The search then comes up in a bunch of pop ups which I find extremely annoying. I usually go directly to the hotel\'s website or do a google search to find out rates. <br /> <br /> Overall, this is a great site to find the right hotel for you, but go somewhere else to get the best price. << Less
