Great deals exist all over the internet, but you need to know how to find them in order to get them. RetailMeNot helps you save money by collecting online coupon codes and letting you use the ones you want. All you have to do is type in the name of the company you want a discount from, click on the 'use it' link next to the coupon, and enter your coupon code when asked at checkout.

Users can search for coupons by website/company or by items like electronics, clothing, etc. You can also subscribe to the weekly newsletter featuring the best coupon codes. As you choose coupons, you can let others know whether or not they worked by rating them. Those with high ratings have a high success rate while those with low ratings are deemed unreliable. Users have the ability to submit any coupons codes they know of to RetailMeNot.com.

The company shares around 70,000 coupons from 13,000 companies. They are technology savvy and have several means for advertising online. They have a Firefox Extension, IGoogle Gadget, and a Mac Widget. RetailMeNot also just started a social network for users. As a member to the network, you can get the best coupons and offers, see what coupons your friends are using, make a wishlist for your friends to see, and more.

The main thing RetailMeNot has going for it is their huge collection of coupons. Most coupons work well, but if you want to use more than one you may want to make sure they don't conflict with each other. Definitely check it out; it's an easy way to save some money.
Supercook is a recipe search engine that finds recipes with the ingredients you have. The goal is to use what you have before it goes bad. All you have to do is create a list of ingredients and Supercook will find recipes from the internet that include your ingredients. Over 250,000 recipes have been collected for Supercook.

To begin using the site, you must add items to your kitchen. Recipes pop up that include what you have. If you're missing anything from a particular recipe, Supercook will let you know and recommend it. They also offer recommendations in the "Do you have?" tab. These ingredients are chosen based on what you have in your home. Recipes that are found can be sectioned off into starters, entrees, or desserts.

Supercook visitors can become free members to the site. With membership, you are able to save recipes and your list of ingredients. You can also go in and adjust your ingredients at any time.

Supercook is a great site, but lacking when compared to other recipe sites. They should try to incorporate a shopping list, like FamilyOven does. They could also explain more thoroughly why they choose some 'Recommended' ingredients. People are usually eager to learn why some foods work together while others don't. They could do this by creating some sort of reference page like Cookthink has. If Supercook made a few improvements, they may be able to compete with some of the larger recipe search engines.
FamilyOven.com is a new type of site that combines social networking for food lovers and propels their food related products and culinary skills forward on the web. The goal of the site is to bring the best recipes from the internet to the site and allows users to rate, improve, and share them with friends.

You can search by recipe name or by ingredient. The recipes come from all over the internet including sites like Allrecipes, RecipeZaar, and cooks.com. With over 500,000 recipes to search from, you'll always find what you're looking for.

FamilyOven.com has great features that I haven't seen at other recipe sites. One feature is "Chomping", which lets users rate whether a dish looks appetizing. Recipes with a high number of "Chomps" have increased search result positioning and gain more exposure than other recipes. The site also lets users save recipes for later. To do this, you must be a registered user on FamilyOven (it's free to join). When you sign in, your saved recipes will be shown on your homepage. Members can also create a shopping list based on the ingredients of a recipe. This is helpful for people who find their recipes after the shopping is complete for the week.

Members have their own pages to add recipes and share some information about themselves. The social-networking part of FamilyOven allows members to friend one another. People can communicate through messaging to share or ask questions about recipes.

FamilyOven wants to please its members and make the experience of using FamilyOven as easy as possible, so they take user suggestions very seriously. This should make users happy and want to come back for more. FamilyOven looks like it could be a leader in recipe searches.
Oodle is an online classifieds service pulling together millions of listings from all over the internet. It's one of the easiest ways to buy and sell online through advertisements. Users can sign up for email alerts to be notified as new listings appear. Oodle also allows site users to post ads for free on hundreds of classifieds sites. The ads are mainly for cars, pets, careers, and real estate.

The site is really easy to search and highly organized. You search what you want and where you want it from (city, state, zip). Oodle's main page has a center search bar and a sidebar with main categories and subcategories you can also search. Searching is uncomplicated and straightforward. The front page for Oodle is straightforward and uncomplicated and nowhere near as initially overwhelming as Craig's List. I never know where to start a search on Craig's List because of all the words on the main page. Oodle also has classifieds in the UK, Canada, India, and Ireland.

Safety is a big deal to Oodle. Before listings enter the Oodle network, it is scanned with fraud detection software. Suspicious behavior and scams are also tracked and moderated by support teams. The company blog lists ways for the consumer and buyer to protect themselves against scams and also published an online safety guide that is in conjunction with the Better Business Bureau.

Oodle is free for people to buy and advertise. The site makes it money from advertisers who pay for high visibility. The company is doing well for itself, recently acquiring rights to Facebook's classifieds. Oodle also powers the classifieds on MySpace. With all this visibility, Oodle is expected to do even better in 2009.

Oodle is a great classifieds search engine because of its organization and numerous listings. I would check it out if you ever need to sell something or want to buy something with little hassle.
Cookthink is an innovative cooking website with great recipes and helpful kitchen tips. They have a unique search tool which allows you to search by ingredients, dish types, cuisines and moods to answer the question: What are you craving? You can also create a free account to keep track of your favorite recipes, use the Cookthink Meal Builder, and receive the weekly email newsletter.

The recipes on Cookthink are inspired by cookbooks, magazines, TV shows, dinner parties, and more. The creators wanted to take the ingredients they used most often and map them for us. They call it their "Recipe Mapping Project" and developed it using a questionnaire that takes them through qualities that apply to each recipe. Since the site is new, Cookthink is still mapping and organizing all the recipes they have. They're adding new recipes every day, so be patient if you can't find what you want.

The site has a great feature called "Reference" where you can learn about cooking technique, tools, ingredients and different cuisines. It was interesting to realize the difference between baking soda and baking powder, and what it means to chiffonade. I haven't seen this type of information on other cooking sites. I also enjoyed searching recipes by ingredients since I sometimes only have few ingredients available and want to make a meal from them without having to go to the store. Cookthink definitely has a promising future.
Splendora is a fashion site that's all about the WHAT TO wear, buy, do, see, read and experience. The site prides itself on having the authority on fabulous and hosts a community of clever, stylish women sharing their own lists on "WHAT TO". Splendora has a Weekly Style Forecast and a blog to keep women "in-the-know".

Ladies can sign-up for complete access to the site. With a membership, you get online-only steals and deals, weekly newsletters featuring the Style Forecast, and invited to VIP parties and Sample Sales. Each member also gets a personal profile where they can upload pictures and a blog to socialize with other Splendora Sisters. Members can post on their "WHAT TO" lists and others get to see what is fabulous.

The site has a sorority feel with pretty colors and girly fonts and a BFF (Best Friends Forever) Lounge. Once you become a member, you're automatically a BFF. Each BFF is expected to treat others with kindness and respect, making offensive behavior punishable. On your second offense, your membership is deleted and you are banished forever.

Besides fashion stuff, Splendora also has a page for Classifieds. Here, you can search or post job opportunities. There are also city guides for New York, San Francisco, and Los Angeles.

The site wasn't my favorite when searching for what's new and popular. Some of the "WHAT TO" posts had high fashion products that seemed a little too unconventional for those living normal day to day lives. It made me wonder who gave these women the authority on fabulous.
TheFind.com is a shopping search engine dedicated to finding the products shoppers are looking to buy. The site has a crawler searching the web to find products from online stores and boutiques and ranks them based on most popular items and stores. The top choices are displayed on the first search page and then in order of decreasing popularity. None of the products are sold directly from their website, but they provide all the links for buying a product.

Visitors of TheFind.com can search by typing in their request in the search bar or they can browse by category. This is helpful when you're not exactly sure what you're looking for, but know generally what you want. At the bottom of the page, the site saves your searches, recently viewed items, and lists any items you saved.

When your search results pop up, you can browse through them by color, top brands, top stores, or sale items. You can also decide how much you want to pay by setting the price range for the products. One of the things I liked from the results was that you didn't have to click on the product to get its details. All you have to do is roll over it with the mouse and everything you want to know appears. The information that pops up is great and lets you look for similar items, obtain coupon codes, and find local stores that sell the particular item.

Besides the basic shopping search, TheFind.com also lets users shop green. Using this search, you can find environmentally-friendly, organic brands and stores. TheFindBuzz is another way to search. Here, you can see what the hot items are and how many people love them.

TheFind.com is a great site for shopping searches. They have so many products and great features that make shopping quick and easy.
Printakid is a company that creates personalized stories for children. They have seven different stories to choose from. All you have to do is personalize your order with the child's name, gender, physical attributes, and more! Most of the stories are priced at $32.99. You can also order your personalized story book with a CD which has custom narration or a yearlong calendar personalized for your child.

The elements of the story that you can change include the name of the child, birthday, skin tone, eye color and shape, hair color and style, parents' names, and dedication. Depending on the story you choose, you can also include the names of three friends and family, a phone number, school grade and clothing for girls. Parents are able to decide which reading level they would like their book to reflect. There is a choice of reading level for preschoolers (3 to 6 year olds) or an elementary school version for 7 to 10 year olds. The elementary school version has more complex text and vocabulary.

When you receive your personalized storybook, it is a high quality hardcover book portrait sized at 8.5" x 11.5". There are approximately 24 pages printed on high quality paper with professionally printed, vivid full colors.

The personalized book from Printakid is a great gift idea. Any child would love to see their face and name in a story that is made for them. The price is a little steep to start buying the book for every kid I know, but for a few special kids, I wouldn't mind spending the money. It's also easy to search for coupons online for a discounted price.
Did you ever forget your coupons and wish you could access them from your phone? Well, now you can with Cellfire. Cellfire is a company specializing in mobile savings from leading merchants and brands nationwide. The application works on over 800 different mobile devices and can be used with all major US carrier networks. The company boasts they have delivered over $29 million in savings to over 10,000 locations across the country. Companies advertising on Cellfire include Hollywood Video, Hardee's, Enterprise Rent-A-Car, and Sears Portrait Studios.

Cellfire users access the discounts through a web-enabled cell phone. The service is found in your phone's applications. You must enter your zip code into the system to receive the deals in your area. The coupon is redeemed at the restaurant or store when the cashier presses the "Use Now" button. Then, the coupon code is used and the discount is taken. The coupons can also be redeemed using a grocery store savings card. Users must enter the card's number through their phone to save them to the card. When you checkout, the cashier scans the card and the coupons are redeemed. Your receipt will show where you saved money.

Cellfire sounds like a great idea, but I haven't used it, so I searched the web to find out what others think. A bunch of people loved the application. They were able to redeem their coupons with no problems at all. Some ran into trouble when they checked their receipts and found that only some coupons were redeemed and not others. Users were a little unhappy with the amount of advertisers available on Cellfire. One guy from Colorado was only able to redeem a Hollywood Video coupon because none of the other advertisers had stores in the area. I was able to find a list of participating grocery stores, but found the same problem as the guy from Colorado: none of the participating stores were located in my area. I can see how this could be frustrated for those who sign up for the service and expect to save money. My advice would be to try and find out if there are any advertisers in your area before signing up with Cellfire.
As the name indicates, Telonu is a site where employees can "tell on" their employers. Telonu is not just limited to companies, but anyone can review their school and the people they interact with at the office and school. There is a section called "Layoff Talk" where visitors can post information they hear concerning layoffs in their companies. Telonu also allows users to interact with one another and ask questions about organizations and people you might want to know about. Use of the site is free and anyone can write a review or ask questions. All you have to do is create a free account to get started.

When you write a review, you have the option of the keeping it anonymous or allowing the post to have you first name and last initial. Telonu also lets you create a nickname in case you want people to follow your posts without letting them know who you really are.

Telonu has a lot more going on than I can even get into. They have boards for gossip in the workplace and school, "Stock Talk" which is the money section, and a place for users to mingle in a social-networking style. Like Facebook, each user can have a profile page, except that on Telonu, you get two pages: one for your actual name and one for your nickname. You can add friends to your network, join groups, and un-friend people.

The site is so busy that it can seem overwhelming. Searching for a company and reading the reviews is easy enough, but when it comes to making a profile and adding friends, I think it gets a little crazy. Even compared to other company review sites, it's seems a little messy. Telonu is sort of a combination of RateMyProfessor.com and JobVent.com, but the two aren't related in any way other than they are both review sites. They seems to be trying to please two different types of users, and because of that lose credibility to those who visit the site. I'd rather stick to Facebook for social networking and search another site when I need to find information on something.
