Fisker Automotive is developing a high efficiency (electric) premium sports car. It is developing a plug-in hybrid high performance sportscar which it expects to selling in the summer of 2010. The car is dubbed the Fisker Karma. Fisker Automotive is a joint venture between Fisker Coachbuild, LLC and Quantum Technologies. The JV was announced in September 2007. Fisker Coachbuild will provide exclusive design services for Fisker Automotive while Quantum Technologies (QTWW - a publicly traded company) will provide technological guidance. Per the company, each car will feature cutting-edge plug-in hybrid penned as Q DRIVE exclusively for all Fisker Automotive vehicles.
Initial production is anticipated to be 15,000 vehicles annually with pricing to start at $87,900.

The company is developing an advanced catalytic gasification technology to convert low grade sub-bituminous and lignite coals to a high value pipeline grade gas. In addition to lower cost, GPE aims to provide a domestically sourced fuel gas with substantially less price volatility than natural gas and a similarly clean environmental profile. The goal of the company is to build, own and operate gas production facilities and to sell substitute natural gas to distressed natural gas power plant operators and large industrial users.
